IAPPS Tuta Working Group Workshop
The South American tomato moth or tomato leafminer, Tuta absoluta, is now one of the
most destructive lepidopterous pests of tomato. Globally, this invasive insect has spread at an
alarming rate in recent years, and is now a pest of great concern in India. In the Bengaluru
workshop, leading experts from various countries will come together to discuss various
strategies for its management. This meeting also provides a platform for exchange of ideas
and knowledge among the participating countries. The participants will also be taken on a
tour to show how Indian farmers are managing this serious pest through ecofriendly methods.
